For the money, you can’t do any better. It’s a nice heavy treadmill mat and it satisfies it’s purpose for a lot less than most mats you see out there. It has worked out well for our new treadmill.
Right out of the box it curls at the ends so needs to be weighed down to flatten initially. Likely the case with any rolled mat though.

I had an Ironman mat that was a bit shorter (6.5′) but looked the same as the one in this picture. The review by CCody is my experience as well, this mat wont stop heavy rubber off-gassing. This would be bad enough in normal circumstances, but add to it that you are potentially breathing very hard next to the mat (you are exercising) and it is not going to work at all. I went so far as to leave this mat outside for two weeks, but this did no good. The off-gassing continues, I’m sending it back.

Offers good protection and cushioning for floor… but it smells really bad. My whole house smells like a tire store. It’s a really strong odor. I’m hoping the smell fades quickly. If not, it’s bad enough that I would get rid of it. My elliptical is in my living room, and I don’t have other options due to space limitations.

I bought this mat regardless of the reviews that it threw off a terrible odor. For the price it is the best I have found and I can say since I have had the mat for over two weeks I can state that it is an exceptional mat for excersice equipment. It has a nice firm grip to my tiled floor and keeps my eliptical perfectly balanced with out any problems at all. The quality of the material is outsatnding. I could tell that as soon as I took it out of the box.
In defense of the other reviews, I can understand their comments regarding the smell. It is very powerful and it did stink for a day or two. My wife even noticed the smell from about 10 feet away when we first got it.
For the price and quality of this mat I would recommend it especially for any heavy equipment. If you have a “super sniffer” and the smell of oiled rubber bothers you, you may want to pass.
